This Privacy Policy explains how Knekkt (knekkt.in) handles information entered into this service. We'll keep it short, because there is very little to say.

Knekkt does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal data you enter. Ever. There is no database. There is no server receiving your information. Everything happens entirely inside your browser, on your own device.

Knekkt is a free, browser-based tool that lets you generate a QR code containing your contact details. Scanning that QR code creates a VCF (vCard) file that anyone can save to their phone contacts.

We built this because we wanted a clean, convenient, and private way to share contact information digitally — without relying on a third-party platform that monetises your data. That is the entire purpose of this service.

Here is exactly what happens when you use Knekkt:

• You open the Knekkt page in your browser. No cookies are set. No tracking scripts load. No analytics fire.
• You fill in your contact details in the form. This information is held only in your browser’s working memory (JavaScript variables). It is never sent to any server.
• You proceed to the review screen. Your data remains in browser memory. Nothing leaves your device.
• You generate a QR code. The QR code is drawn directly on your screen using your browser’s Canvas API. The vCard data is encoded into the QR image client-side. No network request is made.
• You download or share the QR code or profile card. The image file is created entirely on your device and saved directly to your downloads folder. No upload occurs.
• You click Purge, close the tab, or navigate away. At this point — and no later — all data you entered is irrevocably removed from browser memory. There is nothing to delete from any server, because nothing was ever sent there.

To be explicit, Knekkt does not collect, see, or retain any of the following:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact detail you enter
• Your uploaded photo or profile image
• Your IP address in connection with form data
• Browser fingerprints, cookies, or session identifiers linked to your inputs
• Analytics data about which fields you fill in
• Any information whatsoever that you type into this service

Knekkt loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). This is a standard web request that may cause your browser to transmit your IP address to Google’s servers, as is normal for any font loaded from an external CDN. This is entirely unconnected to the contact data you enter into the form.

If you are concerned about this, you can download the HTML file and host it locally or on your own server, where it will run entirely offline.

We have no interest in your data — not commercially, not analytically, not in any other way. Knekkt is not an advertising product. We do not sell anything. We do not have users in any commercial sense. The service exists solely to help people generate contact QR codes quickly and privately.

Knekkt is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from any person, including children. Since we collect no data at all, this is straightforwardly satisfied.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Since our core commitment is zero data collection, any change would make this policy more detailed, not less protective.

Knekkt is a browser-based tool that enables users to generate a QR code containing contact information in vCard (VCF) format. The service operates entirely client-side. No user data is transmitted to or stored by Knekkt or any associated party.

By using Knekkt, you represent and warrant that:

• You are the person whose contact information you are entering, or you have obtained explicit, informed consent from that person to create a contact card on their behalf.
• You have full legal authority to use, publish, and distribute all information and images you input into this service.
• The information you enter is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and you are not impersonating any person or entity.
• You are not using this service to generate contact cards that misrepresent your identity, affiliation, credentials, or any other material fact.
• You are not using this service in connection with any unlawful, fraudulent, harassing, defamatory, abusive, or otherwise unethical activity.
• You are not using this service to generate or distribute contact information for spam, phishing, social engineering, or any other unsolicited or deceptive communication.
• Your use of this service complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.

Knekkt is provided for lawful personal and professional use only. You agree not to use this service:

• To impersonate any person, organisation, or entity
• To facilitate fraud, identity theft, or any criminal activity
• To generate cards containing contact information belonging to a third party without that party’s explicit consent
• In any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the service
• For any purpose that violates applicable local, national, or international law

Knekkt and its associated design, branding, and code are the property of their respective owners. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for the purposes described herein. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of this service without written permission.

The contact card you generate using your own information is yours. We make no claim over the content you create.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, KNEKKT EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION:

• Any implied warranty of merchantability
• Any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose
• Any implied warranty of title or non-infringement
• Any warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• Any warranty regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any output generated by the service
• Any warranty that defects in the service will be corrected
• Any warranty arising out of course of dealing, usage, or trade practice

No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained from Knekkt or through the service, shall create any warranty not expressly stated in these Terms.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, KNEKKT AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

• Your use of, or inability to use, the service
• Any content generated using the service
• Any third-party conduct or content
• Unauthorised access to, or alteration of, your transmissions or data

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Knekkt and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts.
